Volunteers are the backbone of our institution. Volunteers range in age from 18 to 80 and include include anyone with an interest in Aroostook County history, with Caribou Maine being the focus. If you have stories and a desire to share it, then we think you would make a wonderful addition our historical society and museum.

We are looking for museum docents, volunteers for special events like talks, workshops, or dinners. We are also looking for volunteers that can work with children and contribute towards children's programming.

Call for Volunteers

Museums are more than just buildings filled with objects; they are the keepers of our collective memory. But those stories can’t tell themselves—they need you.
We are looking for passionate individuals to join our volunteer family. Whether you have a deep love for history or simply a desire to give back to your community, your presence helps keep our doors open and our exhibits thriving.

The Power of a Few Hours: You don’t need to clear your calendar to make a difference.

We are looking for just 3 to 6 hours of your time per month. We seek a warm welcome for visitors to the museum or a spark.of spark of curiosity in a young visitor’s mind.

We seek behind the scenes work such as mailing or helping us put together a newsletter or helping with a grant.

Why join us? Because you will
get a behind-the-scenes look at our collections, meet our members, and play a vital role in keeping our local heritage alive.

Other projects we would like to see our volunteers participate in:

1.To display its holdings in an environment which is both friendly and educational.
2.  To preserve data and artifacts currently held and to collect additional data and artifacts as they become available.
3. To generate income to fund special projects.
5. To create an environment that will make new members feel a part of the society.
