A Tribute to Dennis Harris
On behalf of the executive board and members, we are saddened to inform the our community that Dennis R. Harris, age 72, pass away March 15. 2021. Dennis has been our curator and office manager or over 15 years. Dennis's knowledge of Caribou, Maine history and neighboring communities was astounding. Dennis will be sorely missed.
Dennis graduated from Washburn High School and from University of Maine at Presque Isle with a bachelor's degree. He taught at Caribou High School for ten years. He was a member of the Washburn Rotary Club, volunteered at Salmon Brook Historical Society as a board member, and the Caribou Historical Society.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Nightingale of Presque Isle; two nieces, Dollie Haines and Jeri Nightingale, both of Fort Fairfield; and their children. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Richard Nightingale.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on May 17, 2021, at Riverside Extension Cemetery in Washburn. Memories and condolences may shared at duncan-graves.com.
