If you are 55 years and older and interested in participating in our Digital Equity Senior Docent program, please get in touch with the Whittier Museum at (207) 498-2556 or email us at [email protected] for more information or use our contact page.
At the Caribou Historical Society & Whittier Museum, we recognize the immense value of our senior citizens. We have initiated the Digital Equity Senior Docent Project funded by the Davis Family Foundation.
The Caribou Historical Society and Whittier Museum are looking for 4 to 8 volunteers ages 55 and older who want to participate in this project. We will provide technology training on tablets and laptops, how to use various museum applications, and learn about our various exhibitions and collections as educational tools for our museum visitors. Our senior museum docents will help support lifelong learning through tours or encouraging questions, encourage discussion, and help the museum promote self-guided learning. By providing educational experiences and facilitating engagement, docents foster a deeper understanding and connection to the museum's collection.
